A child profile is an opaque, randomly generated identifier. We do not ask for, and cannot derive, a child's real-world identity from it — with the one exception of a display name a player types themselves (section 3).
2. What we do NOT collect
- No child name, age, age range, gender, or date of birth
- No phone number.
- No contacts, photos, or location.
- No advertising identifiers, no ad networks, no tracking across other apps or websites. Mira contains no third-party analytics or advertising software of any kind.
3. The game leaderboard and your display name
Mira's games have a leaderboard. If you or your child sets a display name, that name and the score are uploaded and shown to other Mira players. This is the only thing in Mira that is visible outside your own account.
Please use a nickname, not a real name. You can change or clear the display name at any time; playing the games without setting one is fine.

4. Mira Club — classes and teachers
Where a school or club uses Mira, a teacher scans a card to take a register. A teacher can see, for the children in their own class only: the display name on the account, attendance for a day, and learning progress. A teacher cannot see your email, your purchases, or any other class.
If your child is enrolled in a class, that is arranged through the school.

5. Microphone & speech
Speaking exercises use the microphone to check pronunciation. Mira never stores or uploads the recording, and never uploads what was said or the score — the result stays on the device.
The recognition itself is done by Apple. Mira asks for on-device recognition wherever the device supports it. On a device that does not have Apple's offline speech model installed, Apple processes the audio on Apple's servers under Apple's privacy policy, not ours. The microphone is used only during a speaking exercise, and only after you grant permission.
6. Camera
The camera is used for scanning a Mira Club attendance card. Mira reads the code in the frame and keeps nothing else — no photo or video is saved or uploaded. If you never use Mira Club, the camera is never used.

7. How data is used, and who sees it
We use what we collect to run your account, deliver and pace the curriculum, show progress to you and (for a class) to your child's teacher, provide the leaderboard, answer your feedback, and fix and improve the app.
We do not sell data. We do not share it with anyone for their own purposes, and we run no advertising. The only parties that touch it are Apple (sign-in, payments, speech recognition) and our hosting provider, which stores it for us and does nothing else with it.

8. Where data is stored
Account, learning, and class data are stored with our backend provider. Access is protected by row-level security, so one account can only ever reach its own data, and a teacher only their own class.

9. How long we keep it — our retention policy
We keep children's data only as long as is reasonably necessary for the purpose it was collected for. We never keep it indefinitely.

When data reaches the end of these periods we delete it, and we take reasonable measures to protect it during deletion. We keep no archived copy or backup of a deleted account for later recovery.
10. Your choices & rights
- Decide before you begin. Learning and usage data are part of the service, so there is no switch to turn them off. Your choice is made at the start: if you do not accept this policy, do not create an account.
- Play as a guest. Guest accounts give us no email at all.
- Change or clear your display name at any time, which removes it from the leaderboard.
- Leave a class at any time, which stops a teacher seeing your child's progress.
- Delete your account at any time in Settings → Data rights. Deletion is permanent: your email and the data associated with the account are removed from our servers, with no recovery period. This is how you withdraw data you have already given us.
- Ask us anything about your data — including for a copy of it, or for it to be corrected — by emailing support@mirastudios.io. We will respond within 30 days.
- Read these documents again at any time in Settings → Legal. If we change what we collect, we will ask you to accept the updated policy before you continue.
11. Children's privacy
Mira is meant for young children and must be set up and managed by a parent or guardian. We never ask a child for their name, age, birthday, gender, or photo, and we do not knowingly let a child give us any of those.
We do, however, collect information that children's privacy laws treat as personal: a random identifier for the child's profile and device, the record of their learning, and — if one is set — the display name shown on the game leaderboard. We are describing this plainly rather than claiming we collect nothing.
How we use persistent identifiers. The profile and device identifiers are used only to run the service: to keep you signed in, to place your child at the right point in the curriculum, to show progress to you and to your child's teacher if they are in a class, to enforce the two-device limit, and to keep the service secure. We do not use them to build advertising profiles, to serve behavioural advertising, or to track your child across other companies' apps or websites — Mira contains no advertising or third-party tracking software.
Parents are in control. A parent may at any time review the information held about their child, ask us to correct it, refuse to let us collect any more of it, and have it deleted — by using Settings → Data rights in the app, or by emailing support@mirastudios.io. Because the learning record is what makes the curriculum work, refusing further collection means closing the account; we will do that for you on request.
Schools. Where a school or club enrols a class in Mira Club, the school is responsible for telling parents and for obtaining any consent required in its country before enrolling a child. A teacher's access is limited to their own class and to what section 4 describes.
We aim to meet the standards of the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), Vietnam's personal data protection rules, and comparable child-privacy laws in the places Mira is used. If you believe we have fallen short, or you want something removed, write to us at support@mirastudios.io and we will act on it.

12. Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect or how we use it, we will update this page, change the date at the top, and ask you to read and accept the new version in the app before you carry on using it.
